I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN MY CAR STALLED AND A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON, AND DROVE TO MY MECHANIC. HE DROVE AROUND TO TRY AND RE CREATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER 100 OR SO MILES IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE CODES P2111 AND P2112 WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THROTTLE BODY CODES. I HAD TO PAY TO GET THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY AND IS NOT A RECALLED PART. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A PLASTIC PIECE OVER THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT BROKE INSIDE THE SHIFTER. THE BROKEN PIECE CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IS IN PARK AND CAUSED THE KEY TO BECOME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE GEAR SHIFT AND THE KEY FOR HIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO DETECT THAT THE BROKEN PIECES WERE DAMAGING THE GEAR SHIFT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. UPDATED 11/05/10. *LJ
