APPARENTLY THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE "CLOCKSPRING" IN THE STEERING COLUMN OF THE 1994 FORD F-150. WHEN THIS BREAKS, AS IT APPARENTLY OFTEN DOES, THERE IS AN OPEN CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE AIR BAG & THE SENSORS RENDERING THE AIRBAG INOPERABLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE MANUFACTURER YET, ONLY THE DEALER. I JUST WANTED OTHERS TO KNOW OF THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD. I FOUND A FORUM ON A GOOGLE SEARCH ON MY PROBLEM (1994 FORD F-150 FLASHING A CODE 32). WITH PARTS & LABOR THIS IS GOING TO BE APPROXIMATELY $250.00 TO REPAIR. AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
ON OCT 5, 2009 I LEFT FOR LUNCH AT 1:00 PM TO GO TO LUNCH STARTED MY VEHICLE AND THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THE AIRBAG HIT MY LEG AND BURNED MY LEG. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP RANDALL NOE IN TERRELL TEXAS ON OCT 24, 2009 AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD RUN SOME TESTS AND LET ME KNOW WHETHER THEY WOULD REPAIR IT OR NOT AND IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT MADE UP THEIR MINDS WHETHER THEY ARE GOING TO FIX IT OR NOT. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS NOW AND THEY CAN'T MAKE UP THEIR MIND WHETHER THEY WANT TO FIX IT OR NOT. I AM TIRED OF BEING JERKED AROUND AND NOT BEING TOLD WHAT WILL BE DONE. THEY TOOK THE STEERING WHEEL APART BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY COULD TELL WHAT MADE IT DEPLOY BUT AFTER DOING THAT NOW THEY SAY THEY STILL DON'T KNOW WHY IT DEPLOYED. THEY TOLD ME I COULD COME PICK IT UP AND DRIVE AROUND WITH NO AIRBAG UNTIL THEY MAKE A DECISION. *TR
