TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND NOTICED IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:COLUMN SHIFT) THAT OULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
I COULD NOT SHIFT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OUT OF PARK. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR SHOWED UP HE ALREADY HAD THE TOOLS OUT TO RELEASE THE SHIFTER. HE SAID THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER VEHICLES. GOING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE. THERE APPARENTLY IS A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS A SPRING THAT BREAKS. *TR
