TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM. THE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN ILLUMINATING THREE MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE AND THE OIL PUMP CAUSED THE FAILURE AND BOTH COMPONENTS WERE REPAIRED. CURRENTLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING GEARS AND THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,738 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. UPDATED 3/7/08 *CN THE EGINE WAS MAKING A TAPPING NOISE.

2006 DODGE MAGNUM NEEDS FRONT STRUT/SUSPENSION REPAIRS AT 60K. DLR STATED THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM. AT FIRST DAMAGE WAS ESTIMATED AT 20% DAMAGE (ONLY NEEDED NEW TIE ROD ENDS), BUT NOW BOTH FRONT STRUT TENSION LINKS NEED REPLACEMENT PLUS ALIGNMENT (OVER $1000 IN REPAIRS). THIS IS A KNOWN WEAK SPOT IN MODEL DESIGN (SEE OTHER COMPLAINTS). A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED, CONSUMERS ARE PAYING FOR THIS KNOWN DESIGN FLAW/DEFECT OUT OF POCKET. *TR
