ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV)
CONSUMER BOUGHT CAR THAT HAD NOT BEEN THOROUGHLY INSPECTED. AFTER TWO WEEKS A NOISE IN BOTH THE BACK AND FRONT OF THE CAR WAS HEARD. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, PLACED A SUPPORT BECAUSE BRAKE PADS WERE GONE, METAL ON METAL. THE MOTOR MOUNT BROKE, NEEDED ROTORS/SPARK PLUGS, AND TUNE UP ALONG WITH A PVC VALVE. NEEDED TO BE FIXED, BUT DEALER REFUSED TO FIX ANYTHING.*AK

STEERING:RACK AND PINION
CAR TYPE: 2004 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER(TOURING). PROBLEM: POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. ONE MONTH AFTER MY 36-MONTH WARRANTY EXPIRED THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED OUT ENOUGH TO CAUSE CONSIDERABLE NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED DURING DRIVING. CHRYSLER DEALER INVESTIGATED THIS AND FOUND FLUID LEAKING FROM THE RACK-AND-PINION GEARBOX. ESTIMATED COST TO OWNER FOR REPAIR: $600.00 PLUS LABOR. *JB
