WHILE DRIVING MY PACIFICA AT 60 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE WAS REVVING HIGH SO I SLOWED DOWN AND IT WAS TACKING AT 6000 RPM WHILE ONLY GOING 40 MPH. I STOPPED AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED IT SHIFTED NORMALLY. A FEW DAYS LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. THEN IT DID IT TWICE IN ONE DAY. I TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS INTERNAL DAMAGE AND THEY WANTED $1000 JUST TO DROP THE TRANSMISSION BEFORE THEY FIXED ANYTHING.THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 80000 MILES ON IT. WHEN IT ONLY HAD 36000 MILES THE ENGINE THREW A ROD AND I HAD TO SPEND $3000 FOR A NEW ENGINE. I'VE SINCE LEARNED THAT PACIFICA'S BURN A QUART OF OIL ABOUT EVERY 1000 MILES. I WOULD HAVE CHECKED THE OIL MORE OFTEN HAD I KNOWN THIS. I TRADED IT IN RATHER THEN REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. BUT NOT ON A CHRYSLER. *TR
