WE JUST PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 4WD, WE HAVE HAD IT FOR FOUR DAYS AND TODAY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING, IT HAS WOUND ALL THE WAY AROUND, WE PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IN THE ATTEMPT TO RESET IT. WE HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO TELL AT WHAT SPEED WE WERE DRIVING, WHICH IS HIGHLY UNSAFE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT LOOKED AT THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE DIAL WAS ON ZERO. THE TACHOMETER WAS OVER 7,000 AND THE OIL GAUGE WAS OVER EIGHTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND HE STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT WORKING. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS THIRTY MILES OFF, THE RPM WAS STUCK AT 4,000, AND THE FUEL TANK VARIED FROM FULL TO HALF. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH CHEVROLET AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 53,253.
