MY 2004 ACURA TL HAD DEVELOPED A MAJOR CRACK ON PASSENGER SIDE OF DASHBOARD ALONG THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON ACURA TL'S, AND IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED AS A RECALL OR SAFETY CONCERN BY ACURA/HONDA. THE COST OF REPAIR IS HUGE AND I DON'T THINK CUSTOMER SHOULD PAY FOR THE MATERIAL DEFECT BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE CRACK IS RIGHT ALONG THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME. *KB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 ACURA TL. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNT ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. HE INSPECTED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THAT MOST OF THE COMPONENTS WERE MELTED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO WAIT A WEEK UNTIL AN ENGINEER COULD PROPERLY INSPECT THE VEHICLE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,500.
